Who I am
I’m an avid diner that uses the internet to find great restaurants, lunch and dinner discounts, menus, restaurant reviews, gourmet gifts, etc…   I guess you could say I’m “Everyone’s Diner” (the”E” in “E. Diner”).  I’m not a professional food critic, but I am a certified food-o-phile!  Because of my day job as a restaurant wine salesman, I dine out at LEAST 3-4 times a week.  I started in the wine business 12 years ago and 4 belt sizes ago.  In that time, I have traveled to 12 states and dined at the finest white table cloth restaurants AND the best burger and pizza joints.   I’ve been told that I have a black belt in dining (and it’s getting tighter every day!).

What I do
I started a website called DinerDeals.com in February 2002 as LunchDiscounts.com – a local Austin, Texas based website devoted to emailing lunch discounts from nearby restaurants.  I launched the site with only 100 friends & family members as subscribers and 6 restaurants with coupons.  Within two years, the membership increased to 15,000 with over 100 restaurants emailing lunch, dinner and happy hour discounts!  Since I offered more than just lunch discounts I decided to change the name to DinerDeals.com (catchy, right?).Over the last 2 years many of the members would request special sections with information on restaurants that deliver.  Or they would ask me for reviews on the food.  Every time I would add a new section to DinerDeals.com the members would ask for something else related to dining.  Quite frankly, I couldn’t keep up!

That’s when the light bulb turned on!
After a favorable article was written in the Austin Business Journal, Diner Deals received national exposure.  Twenty other business journals picked up the article and the phones were ringing off the hook!  People in Philadelphia, Cincinatti, Raleigh, and all over the country wanted to know if DinerDeals.com would be coming to their city.  I was already planning to email lunch and dinner discounts from restaurants in other cities…but the diners wanted more!

Share the Wealth (of Dining Knowledge)
I’ve bookmarked hundreds of dining and restaurant related websites while researching DinerDeals.com.  In fact, I have personally used most of the services featured on DinerDeals.com.  So I thought “why not put them all together into one big diner resource website and share all of my research with my subscribers?”  Voila…Diner Deals 2.0 is born!  DinerDeals has evolved from a neighborhood restaurant coupon website to the ”premier resource for diners” (nice tagline, doncha think?).

If you have a passion for dining out (or in), but don’t want to spend hours searching online for coupons, reviews, menus, gift certificates, gourmet gifts, etc…, then this website is for you!   No matter where you live in the U.S., Diner Deals has something for you!  Bon Appetit!
